My commentary

 

In a event with my students, I thought to do an instructive agitation with the theme that bothered me, and bothers me, the one of personal identity before the other.

With a loud speaker I told an absurd legend in which a taxi at high speed, when crossing a tunnel, reached the speed of light and became dematerialized causing the passengers to mingle in non-matter occurring the experience of the subject (of the individual) in the other.

 

With an exaggeratedly loud sound, I played the refrain Eu sou Você (I am you) by Alceu Valença. A tall urn, 60X35X35 cm, in whose lid, when open, a mirror is seen, and inside the urn it is drawn a thread with many colored party flags that reads "shout his name"; "shout her name" and the last "I am you". This string of flags drawn by the audience in circular bleachers would be held above their heads, like a kind of clothesline, in complete mess.

 

It was the Urna da Identidade Utópica (Urn of the Utopian Identity) which, kept in bad conditions, deteriorated and was sent for restoration by a Gallery.

On this occasion, exchanging ideas about the urn, I was moved to make this second one, the Identidade Utópica Urna II (Utopian Identity Urn II) in which among Duchampian small dry twigs  rests a sealed envelope inside which there is a secret writing. On the back of the lid the same mirror, but this time with the reflex canceled by an X
